The purpose of this job description is to provide a core set of duties and responsibilities that allow both the employee and management to have a clear understanding of the purpose and essential functions of the Business Development Representative.
The Business Development Representative works for designated Sales Director to assist in qualifying incoming leads and progressing these through the Sales funnel with the aim of closing sales for OmniUpdate s products and services.
Occupies vital role between SDRs who generate leads and Sales Directors who close deals
Contacts incoming sales leads via email and phone to continue value proposition discussions
Converts warm leads to qualified sales opportunities.
Develops separate value proposition pitches aimed at distinct customer segments
Works with Marketing team to produce and deliver appropriate collateral to prospective customers
Communicates case studies and success stories addressing distinct customer needs
Communicates success stories that drive demand for OmniUpdate products to existing prospects.
Executes actions to engage clients that ensure achievement of company sales conversion goals.
Effectively utilizes and updates customer relationship management (CRM) database.
Uses effective writing, verbal, and presentation skills in composing written materials, responding to emails, and regular interaction to solve work related problems and concerns.
Participates in other projects as requested by Sales Director.
General office working environment that includes several hours of continuous computer work including typing.
Drive on occasion for several hours to and from the corporate headquarters.
Occasionally stay away from home overnight.
Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, traditional office noise levels.
Frequent use of standard office equipment including copiers, fax machines and computers.
Sit for two or more hours at a time.
Occasionally stand for two or more hours at a time.
Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills, plus outstanding interpersonal, organization and, follow-up skills.
Excellent computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office and various web applications.
Should have ambition and drive to assume Sales Director role within 2-3 year timeframe
