Key Account Manager Espresso experience required

Our client, a privately-held Master Coffee Roaster, is seeking a Key Account Manager for the Southern California Market to focus on multi-unit/ premium coffee house, cafe, and restaurant business. This company, in business over 50 years, is highly regarded for their superior standards in quality, sourcing (zero-waste facility), and packaging of their products. There is huge potential due not only to the company' s stability, but also their growth, which has been double digit for the past two years.

The Key Account Manager will be responsible for establishing, growing, and managing a portfolio of large key accounts in the food service channel, developing and maintaining long term relationships while maximizing sales opportunities within them.


Meet sales revenue and profit goals.

Effectively open and close sales cycles through qualifying, presenting, proposing, closing and managing key accounts.

Aggressively pursue and fully develop new accounts in the premium food service channel. Restaurant, coffee house, caf, specialty coffee retail segments are the target customer.

Sell a full line portfolio of products, equipment, allied and coffee sales.

Resolve issues and provide technical support and solutions for priority customers.

Conduct regular business reviews with customers.

Develop annual strategic business plan for fiscal year, focused on meeting or exceeding sales quota.

Responsible for sales reporting results. Monthly sales meeting updates, annual sales analysis.

Effectively manage key projects and initiatives while meeting deadlines.

Keep up to date with competition by gathering current marketplace information. Pricing, products, new products, merchandising techniques, market trends, etc.

Develop a database of qualified leads through referrals, cold calling on business owners and networking.

Maintain accurate records of all sales and prospecting activities including sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow up activities, including the use of Salesforce CRM, to maintain accurate records.

Work closely with marketing team to develop and implement marketing projects and campaigns.

Experience Requirements:

5+ years experience in coffee with a high level of coffee and espresso equipment knowledge.

Food service industry sales experience required.

5+ years experience in business-to-business (B2B) sales with proven results.

Documented track record of success in business-to-business sales/ proven results.

Experience in working with cross functional teams (sales, marketing and customer service) to deliver business objectives.

Willingness and ability to travel if needed.

Experience and competence with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM.

College degree or equivalent experience.
